The story
There's a beautiful story behind Soma Bags Tanzania... A few years ago, the Tanzanian entrepreneur James founded the foundation My Little Travelling Library. For this foundation, James brings all kinds of (study) books around on his bike. This way, also children in remote areas have education to stories and new knowledge. In the countryside in Tanzania, however, there is not always electricity. The kids who live there can only read and learn before sunset. But: James came up with something for that too: bags with built-in lights that work on solar energy.
By buying the bags from Soma Bags you not only support our projects in Kahama, but you also support the school kids all over the country! With the profit Soma Bags makes, they can produce more bags with solar panels for the local scholars.
Our Bags
Each item is unique and made of strong Tanzanian cement bags with colorful kitenge fabric on the inside. By buying one of the bags, you support not one but TWO charities!

This is the ideal backpack for a day trip or a school day! The bag has two side pockets on the outside (for a bottle of water, for example), a laptop pocket and an extra pocket for small stuff on the inside. The Chura City Bag is available in four colours and costs €31,99 each.

The Kobe Bag is the ideal backpack for work or school. This bag is one size bigger than the Chura City Bag and has space for everything you need in class or at the office. The bag has a laptop pocket and different big and small pockets on the inside. This way, the laptop is theft proof as well. The Kobe Bag is available in two colours and costs €34,99 each.

Cosmetic Bag
Our Cosmetic Bag is a small, sturdy etui that offers space for all your make-up, toiletries, pens, pencils, hair accessories and you name it! The bag is available in four colours and costs €11,99 each.
Safari Bag
Our Safari Bag is de biggest bag in our collection. With almost 60 liters to fill (!), this bag is perfect for all of your holidays, sports competitions and weekend trips. The bag has a one main compartiment (with one mesh pocket) and two side pockets. The Safari Bag is available in red and yellow and costs €50,99 each.
